Lights of Love

Lights of Love Choir

Since 1987, Connecticut school children have been the heart of the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut Lights of Love fund raising campaign. Inspired by the generosity of one Cheshire student, the campaign has grown to include the participation of thousands of children from public and private schools throughout the state. In 2008, Lights of Love generated revenues of $33,556. Schools raised $18,610 and individuals contributed $14,946 in our honor/memorial program.

Lights of Love has expanded to include additional fundraising events throughout the year where schools and student groups participate to raise money for the House. We never cease to be amazed at the ingenious fund raising events that schools devise to help in our annual holiday effort.

Lights of Love retains its essential simplicity, allowing schools to choose fundraisers that fit into their school culture and calendar. The PTA Association of Connecticut visited the House last spring and was so excited about the program that they plan to feature it at their annual conference in Waterbury in April 2009.

A new initiative will make it easier for schools to participate in our yearlong Lights of Love fundraising program using the latest web-based technology. Schools will be able to fill out forms online using a personalized URL site or they may continue to use traditional printed
forms.
