Mission Statement

The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut is a "home away from home" primarily for families of children who are being treated at nearby hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

Your Contributions Enrich The House That Love Built!

For the third consecutive year, the Connecticut Society of Pediatric Dentists, a statewide professional association of children’s dental practices, has chosen the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut as the state’s charitable organization to benefit from its annual fundraising drive.

Twenty-one dental practices across the state sold Ronald McDonald red shoes and matched these funds. This year’s totals set a new high of $9,935.

The Connecticut Sun women’s basketball team will recognize the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut as an inaugural member of the CT Sun Community All-Star Program. This new program will include opportunities for the House to promote our efforts. The CT Sun will host a dinner at the House for families and volunteers, sending up to four players who will meet guests and sign autographs. A crew will film the dinner and turn it into a feature to be shown during a game.

The 5th Annual Dinner and Comedy Night on May 3 drew an enthusiastic crowd at its new location at the Omni Hotel in New Haven.

Several foundations have joined our Adopt-a-Room program. The Robert and Marguerite Derx Foundation has donated $25,000 for two rooms and the Huntington Family Foundation has contributed $10,000 to support one room.

The Herman Abbot Charitable Trust has donated $20,000 to support a room and provide operating funds in memory of Bernadette DiCicco Kohloff.

The Goldfarb Foundation and Pepperidge Farm have each made $1,000 grants to the House.

The New York based ad agency of Calfo-Ives will help us with outreach and media relations and collaborate with AlphaGraphics, a New Haven printer, to launch a web-based initiative to enhance our Lights of Love school fundraising program.

You can walk Miles for Smiles, a new event developed by the Levy Dental Group which also sponsors the Smiles for Life teeth-whitening program. Walkers began at 925 State Street at 10 AM on Saturday, June 7 and walked five miles to the Ronald McDonald House on George Street.

Schools continue to raise money for the House as part of our Lights of Love campaign. The North Haven Middle School donated $2,000 from a dance they sponsored in February.
